It’s that time of the year! Time to pick my word for 2024!
Typically, the word reveals itself because I see it everywhere or it keeps appearing in different books that I am reading. The first word was believe.
This year was different. I spoke the word…often. Even my daughter, Emilie, commented on it.
I think we all can agree, these past few years have been anything but typical! In my life, there have been so many changes, both personally and professionally. I’ve spent a lot of time in either survival mode, learning mode, teaching mode, home renovation mode, etc.
There are 24 hours in one day! I have a lot of modes (neither good nor bad) happening in one day. I have been feeling off kilter. I am definitely not following my own teachings in many aspects of my life.
Sound familiar?
It makes me think of bowling. Yes bowling. In 10 pin bowling, the ball can knock down zero pins, one pin, four pins or all ten. At one time, a person would come out, pick up the pins and put the pins back in their place. Now a machine comes down, moves the fallen pins out the way. Another machine follows, resetting the pins. The game then continues with the same ten pins and possibly the same ball.
This brings me to my word for 2024:
RESET
For me it means removing things that have fallen away and resetting things that are important to me. Bringing parts of my life and practice back into order. I don’t want to reset things to how they were before. I intend to use a fresh outlook married with all I have learned over the past few years.
Do you need to reset some parts of your life and practice too? There will be special workshops throughout the year to help you reset too! The first workshop Is Explore 2024 by Living with Intention on February 4. You can check that out here.
